University of Calcutta Admission to Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Political Science (2014-2015)
Applications are welcomed from qualified applicants willing to conduct research on areas specified below
for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Political Science, University of Calcutta for the session
2014-2015.
1. Number of seats: 07 (includes mandatory reservation of 02 seats)
2. Last date for submission of Application Forms: 24 Dec 2014.
3. Date of Written Test (to be held in the Department): 05 Jan 2015.
4. Date of interview (for the short-listed candidates only): 13 January 2015.
5. Probable Date of commencement of Coursework (of six-month duration): 16 January 2015.
6. Candidates qualified in NET/SLET/M.Phil. are exempted from the Written Test. However they will
have to appear for the interview.
7. Areas of Work: Politics of West Bengal, Politics of Literature/Cultural Politics, Political
Anthropology of Gifts and Awards, Women’s Empowerment and Self-Help Initiatives, Politics of ‘New’
Technology.
