Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start
experimenting with the CBSE-i curriculum in the city of Nagpur first. According
to reports, Nagpur will be getting the first Central Board of Secondary Education
(CBSE)-i curriculum school.
It has been reported that CBSE-i has a distinct model in
academics and ranks. The examinations are a comprehensive evaluation system,
consisting of four formative and two summative assessments. Online teaching
material is provided. Manuals will be sent to parents of the students to keep
them informed about their wards' progress. The curriculum of CBSE-i also covers
topics related to vocational skills, which are aimed to boost the employability
of the students.
Nagpur has schools affiliated to the main boards like the
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), CBSE, International
Baccalaureate (IB), etc apart from state board. The new CBSE-i curriculum will
be offered by the Jain International School from the academic session of
2015-16. According to officials of the school, around 80 schools in the country
have been authorized to launch the CBSE-i curriculum.
The curriculum consists
of a perfect blend of the CBSE (70%) and international (30%) boards.
