Student exchange policy between IIM-Ahmedabad and Melbourne
University
The premier B-school of the country Indian Institute of
Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) has now reportedly joined hands with the
Australia-based University of Melbourne (UoM). IIM-A has inked a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU), to facilitate various student/faculty exchange programs. UoM
has the largest inbound and outbound student exchange program in Australia,
with over 140 exchange partners from 37 countries.
Though it was signed recently, the program was initiated in
2012. It can be recalled that IIM-A has tie ups with other institutes in
Australia for exchange programs. Under the program, second year students are
picked by the global institutes each year and spend an academic term at such
institutes.
The MoU also enables students from foreign universities to spend
an academic term at the IIM Ahmedabad campus. As per reports, at IIM-A, the
total number of exchange as well as dual degree programs has shot up
substantially from 81 during 2011-12, 83 during 2012-13 and 95 during 2013-14
to 150 during 2014-15.
