It is a dream for many students to learn at the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) but due to the intense competition from students across India, many students miss out on obtaining seat the premier technical institutions. But now it seems there is some chance for at least Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) students of engineering to learn from the top institute.

It has been reported that UPTU students can now pursue courses of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), together with their own curriculum. Students can avail the new facility at their respective institutes. Candidates can also undertake the courses from home. UPTU recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Bombay, under the “Talk to a Teacher” program of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

As per reports, the collaboration is expected to be a boon for around 4 lakh students of 700 engineering colleges across Uttar Pradesh (UP). Colleges affiliated to UPTU will be linked to the “Spoken Tutorial” portal of IIT Bombay, where they will be able to pursue online courses. Officials and students of IIT Bombay can also download audio-visual lectures on their smart-phones in English, Hindi and other regional languages. The portal has e-content in 620 English and 387 Hindi subjects.
